And even more.
Figure has made a name for itself in the robotics field for its groundbreaking humanoid robot, Figure 01, which is also a potential rival to Tesla's Optimus. Recently, they reached a deal with BMW to deploy them in their facilities, and now they might receive $500 million in funding from Microsoft and OpenAI.
A collaboration between Figure's technology and OpenAI's ChatGPT would bring endless possibilities for automation, as general-purpose humanoid robots are set to become a huge part of our future, streamlining repetitive jobs and boosting productivity.
To address concerns about GPT-4's potential to facilitate access for bad actors to the development of biological weapons, OpenAI has conducted a study to establish an early warning system.
The study involved 100 participants, including specialists in biology.
This effort is part of OpenAI's Preparedness Framework, an initiative that aims to mitigate risks and ensure responsible AI development.
👀A model leak affects Mistral (4 min)
In the last few days, a mysterious LLM surprised the open-source community. Named "miqu-1-70b," it appeared on HuggingFace and quickly gained traction, with its prompt format resembling that of Mistral. Reportedly, the model's performance approached the benchmark set by OpenAI's GPT-4.
Mistral's CEO, Arthur Mensch, has clarified the situation, stating that this was a leaked version of an old model, and hinted at ongoing efforts to train a new version that could potentially match or even exceed its performance. Is it a leak or a “leak”? Who knows, the results are clear, this will create a lot of excitement.
🚗 As the automotive industry increasingly embraces AI, Volkswagen is taking steps to enhance its upcoming vehicles. The German automaker has unveiled plans for an AI lab, aiming to create innovations that appeal to customers.
💳 Mastercard has announced that it is leveraging transformer models for its proprietary Gen-AI model, Decision Intelligence Pro, designed to assist banks in the real-time detection of suspicious transactions and verifying their legitimacy.
