Apple is also pushing for open source and small models with the launch of OpenELM, a family of open-source "Efficient Language Models" ranging from 270M to 3B parameters, which excel in accuracy and are optimised for Apple devices.
The company has shared the pre-training dataset, CoreNet, in support of open research and to improve the models through collaborative efforts.
💼 Amazon announces Custom Model Import (5 min)
Amazon wants to make its cloud computing service, AWS, a major asset for companies. They recently announced Custom Model Import, a feature for Bedrock that allows enterprises to bring their own AI programs and use them like any other AI program in Bedrock, such as Llama 3 or Claude 3.
This feature enables companies to further improve their proprietary AI models by leveraging Bedrock's tools, expanding their knowledge, fine-tuning them, and adding safeguards against biases.
